We must prepare for this exit, comfortable shoes to kick the city, we will travel at least about 8 kms on foot in pedestrian streets and alleys. It is a Flashback in time, the city maintains the structure of 11 centuries ago. Walls for defensive purposes, narrow residential and wide commercial streets. Its public baths, ovens, mosques, fountains are original. The Medina is the only case of an entire city declared as a world heritage site.
There is much to see the University, the Zaouia, the Madrasas, the artisan guilds, the leather goods that were born in this city. The weavers men in the looms and women with their carpets, jewelers, the essence of history, gastronomy … It is a city that never ceases to amaze.

Day excursion to Chaouen: 214kms X 2

One more contrast to highlight, the city painted white and blue in the middle of the Rif mountain range. Remember Spain with its past and its modern history. Its streets are reminiscent of the Spanish south with its narrow streets and floral decorations on the windows. Its central square with the Hotel Parador, restaurants and tearooms recalls the white villages of the Alpujarra of Granada. His people are very humble, kind and helpful. It is an option to spend a day out and return to Fez or continue to Tangier.
